Marcos is a Composer, Producer, Songwriter and Musician.
He started his career at 17 as an Actor and Musician first appearing in Matador at the Queens Theatre. As an accomplished Flamenco guitarist Marcos split his time equally writing music and performing in five West End musicals over 6 years including the Olivier Award winning Return to the Forbidden Planet on Tour around the UK and in creating the role of Joe Vega in the original cast of Fame at the Cambridge Theatre.
In 1996 Marcos co-founded First British Independent, a state of the art production house and recording studio in London’s Notting Hill with the composer Christian Henson. They joined Air-Edel and Marcos became immersed in the world of film composition through his highly acclaimed work within the UK Drum & Bass, Breakbeat and Pop scene; working with the likes of LTJ bukem, MC Conrad, The Freestylers, Scott Walker, Roy Ayers, Boyzone and Peter Andre.
With First British Independent Marcos accumulated numerous credits including the landmark series Brain Story for the BBC, The National Lottery Show, Horizon BBC and ITV 2′s The Big Match Live. He also wrote production music and commercials music for Bodyform, Holiday Inn, Fosters and C4 Films to name a few.
He composed his first full length musical with co-writer Peter Jukes “Sanctuary” for the producer Adam Spiegel. He also developed and composed further musical projects produced by Adam Kenwright.
Then Marcos wrote the Album “Plan B” which took him and his band Guarro on the road for a few years touring extensively in the UK and Europe. They opened the Natural Music Festival in Almeria headlined by Guns ‘N’ Roses, and played The Azkena Rock Festival sharing the stage with Pearl Jam, Wolfmother and Iggy and the Stooges. Marcos also held his own in the United States playing solo at Harley Davidson’s 105th celebrations in Milwaukee, an event headlined by Bruce Springsteen and the Foo Fighters.
With the collapse of the traditional music model Marcos was at the forefront of innovation not just online but in the live music arena by co-creating “The Indy Music Awards” and co-founding the ticket and music download platform “Kabodler” with Paul Clarke. Marcos now works out of his own rural writing suite and production studio where he is currently working on a variety of projects including two new musicals one called “Mrs Gucci” with co-writer Peter Jukes and another very exciting project for 2018 more news soon.
Marcos and Peter have also been extremely lucky to gain the dramatisation rights for the modern classic Requiem por un campesino Espanol a short, elegant and moving account of the tragic effects of the Spanish Civil War on a small Aragonese population and which is often called Ramon J. Sender’s greatest masterpiece.
